The Spanish Riding School will be touring the West coast in 2008
To All:
The planned tour of the Spanish Riding School for this year, 2008, has been postponed until further notice due to health issues with the Lipizzaners of the Spanish Riding School. I will be in Vienna January 22 thru 26 to reset a future tour for the SRS in the United States. As soon as we have new dates established both LANA and USLR will be informed. I will have further information and an official release upon my return the end of the month.

LES 4 ECOLES D'ART EQUESTRE – The World Première
Palais Omnisports – Paris, November 23-25, 2007.gif)
The Spanish Ridingschool of Vienna, the Royal Andalusian Ridingschool
of Jerez, the Portuguese Ridingschool of Lisbon, and the Cadre Noir
of Saumur will join their strengths in a unique performance of Classical
Equitation in Paris, next Autumn.
In the “Palais Omnisports”, a giant sport arena in Paris, these four
leading institutions of Classical Dressage will present in a joined
performance -for the first time ever- all skills of European
classical riding tradition. Three performances are foreseen: November
23rd, 24th, and 25th 2007.
During an earlier meeting in Vienna, at which the Kobilarna Lipica
Equestrian School from Slovenia was also present, the institutions
agreed to intensify their co-operation and to establish the bases for
obtaining European Union funds for certain joint projects. In
addition, the aim to exchange experience of both riders as students
was set.
The organizational details of the event in November were decided
during a recent directors’ meeting, which took place in Paris.
According to the agreement reached by the directors of these
institutions, in Paris each school will perform two solo acts and two
joint acts, in a show that will last a maximum of two hours, and in
which each school will use between 20 and 25 horses.
So this unique event will offer:
- The most beautiful highlights of every institution, in which their
specific specialties will be shown
- A joined performance, in which the best representatives of the
institutions will be united in a unique cooperation on the highest
equestrian level.
These unique events will gather 45 of the best classical riders of
the world, and more than 80 highly trained horses of various
traditional European background: Lipizzaners, Andalusians, Alter-Real
Lusitanos and Anglo-Arabs.
